IAC has many different volunteer opportunities available from direct services to event planning and fundraising. Internships are also available for students. Many positions have flexible hours. Training/certification is provided for all available volunteer positions.

We are constantly seeking and accepting applications for volunteer positions. We currently have non-direct service positions as well as direct service positions available. 

The UAF Resource and Advocacy Center is looking for volunteers and interns who are interested in advocacy. In this position you will have the opportunity to provide crisis intervention, systems advocacy, and support to UAF students, faculty, and staff who have been impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. This will include handling sensitive issues in a mature and confidential manner with integrity and compassion. Training provided. Flexible hours. 

Minimum Qualifications: Must be willing to commit 1 year (2 semesters) of services with 4-6 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have experience handling sensitive issues in a mature and confidential manner with integrity and compassion. We are looking for someone that has the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles with a commitment to agency mission and goals. Must have the ability to pass a background check and UAF Judicial Check.

Non-Direct Services include special events, fundraising, flexible hours, as well as short and long term opportunities.
Direct Service Positions are going to require a minimum of 6 month commitment, in which training will be provided. If interested in volunteering/interning please submit your volunteer application, resume, and three references to iac@iacnvl.org and indicate which program you are interested in helping with.
Programs include: Advocacy, Sexual Assault Response Team, and Birch Supervised Visitation and Exchange Center
