Victim Services Director:

The Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living is looking for a supportive and compassionate person to fill our Victim Services Director position. This person must have a calm and patient demeanor in order to excel at this position. The job duties include supervising our team of victim advocates to include hiring and training new advocates, holding regular meetings, conducting evaluations and documenting disciplinary actions. You will also be responsible for coordinating community partnerships and implementing the goals and objectives to include overseeing scheduling, substituting for program staff, overseeing case conferencing and the maintenance of service records.  

Minimum qualifications include: Bachelors Degree in Social Work or a closely related field; prior work experience may be used in lieu of the degree. One year demonstrated experience in supervision or program management. Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault. Proficient with computers, data base input, presentation programs and equipment. Commitment to agency's mission and goals. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles. Valid Alaska Driver's License. Excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills. Ability to pass background check.

Prevention Coordinator:

Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living is searching for an experienced individual that may be looking for long term growth opportunities to fill our Prevention Coordinator position. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to: implementing the goals and objectives for the prevention program, networking in the Fairbanks community, creating and updating the prevention plan/strategy, implementing funded prevention services already in place, and ensuring IAC inclusion in statewide prevention training and grant opportunities. The Prevention Coordinator will assist the Community Services Director with evaluations, grant preparation, presentations, reports, and other duties as assigned. This leadership position is expected to facilitate meetings, provide email up-keep, stay on top of meeting minutes and meeting reminders, substitute for program staff, supervise community programs, recruit, screen, interview and make hiring decisions, conduct staff training, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions when necessary, and follow all federal and state labor laws.    

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Marketing, or closely related field (job or school experience may be used in lieu of degree). Knowledge of the Fairbanks community. Proficient with computers, data base input, presentation programs and equipment. Experience in meeting facilitation and public speaking. Commitment to the agency’s mission and goals. Excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles. Valid AK driver’s license. Ability to pass a background check.

Birch Center Relief Security Monitor:

The Birch Center is currently looking for Relief Visitation Security. This position is specifically afternoons/evenings and weekends. The essential functions and responsibilities of this position include: Providing active security during supervised visits and exchanges to ensure safety including video monitoring, communication monitoring, walk through, and escorts as appropriate in compliance with safety procedures, maintaining confidentiality, providing assistance in scheduling, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: One year prior experience in the security field and a high school diploma/GED. Excellent interpersonal, group and written communication skills. Prior demonstrated ability of working with people of diverse backgrounds, culture and lifestyles. Ability to maintain boundaries. Proficient with computers and an ability to do data entry. Ability to pass background check.

Birch Center Relief Visitation Monitor:

The Birch Center is currently looking for a Part Time Visitation Monitor. This position is specifically afternoons/evenings and weekends. The responsibilities of this position include: facilitating a safe, positive, and comfortable atmosphere for children to visit with their non-custodial parent while providing active monitoring of visits to ensure the safety of the victim and their children. The candidate will also provide monitoring services for supervised exchanges and will engage in and role model direct conflict resolution and mediation while presenting a professional demeanor to the community through appearance, communication and presentation.

Minimum Qualifications include availability to work afternoons/evenings and weekends, an Associates Degree in Child Development, Human Services, or closely related field; job, school or life experience may be used in lieu of the degree, excellent interpersonal, group and written communication skills, prior demonstrated ability of working with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles, an ability to maintain boundaries, proficient with computers, an ability to do data entry, and an ability to pass a background check.

Careline Part Time Crisis Intervention Specialists:

Careline is currently looking for a Part Time Crisis Intervention Specialist. In this position you will have the ability to implement policies, protocols and services designed to assist individuals who are thinking of or planning to commit suicide, are impacted by someone with suicidal behavior, or who are experiencing crisis that without assistance, may turn into suicidal behavior. Services are provided via phone call or text messaging. The Crisis Intervention Specialist will maintain client confidentiality except in cases where client needs must be communicated to appropriate staff and emergency personnel, provide support, information and referral for non-crisis calls, maintain accurate records of lethality assessments and client information, and other duties as assigned by the Careline Coordinator. 

Minimum qualifications include the availability to work weekends, an Associates Degree in Social Work or a closely related field; prior work or life experience may be used in lieu of the degree, excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills, a commitment to agency's mission and goals, an ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles, an ability to work independently, an ability to pass background check, proficient with computers, and an ability to do data entry.

An advocate will have experience handling sensitive issues in a mature and confidential manner with integrity and compassion, the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles, a commitment to the agency’s mission and goals and the ability to pass a background check.
